Integration

Please select the LMS/VLE you use at your institution

Integrating with Canvas

  1. From the Dashboard click “Start a New Course”


  2. Enter the Course Name and License according to your institutional policies and click “Create Course”


  3. From the course home page click “Settings” and then click the “Apps” tab


  4. Click “View App Configurations”


  5. Click “+App” and add the following information:
    • Configuration Type: Manual Entry
    • Name: OUP LTI Content Links
    • Consumer Key: Your provided key
    • Shared Secret: Your provided secret
    • Launch URL: LEAVE BLANK
    • Domain: iws.oupsupport.com
    • Privacy: Email Only OR Public
    • Custom Fields: N/A
    • Description: Optional


  6. Click Submit and return to the course home page
  7. Click “Add existing content”


  8. Under Import Content select “Common Cartridge 1.x Package” (DO NOT select “Canvas Course Export Package”) and then click “Choose File”, select the imscc file provided to you, and click “Open”. Select the question bank and click “All content”. Finally, click “Import”. The cartridge will then load into the course.


  9. Click “Modules” to browse the content added to the course

Integrating with Blackboard

  1. From the System Admin > Building Blocks menu click “Building Blocks”


  2. Click “LTI Tool Providers” and then click “Register Provider Domain”



  3. Enter the following and click Submit:
    • Provider Domain: iws.oupsupport.com
    • Provider Domain Status: Approved
    • Default Configuration: Set globally
    • Tool Provider Key: Your provided key
    • Tool Provider Secret: Your provided secret
    • Send User Data: Send user data only over SSL
    • User Fields to Send: Role in Course and Email Address
    • Show User Acknowledgment Message: No


  4. From the System Admin > Courses menu click “Courses”


  5. Click “Import Package”


  6. Enter the Destination Course ID or Browse for the destination course


  7. Click “Browse My Computer” and select the imscc file provided to you. Under Select Course Materials select “Content Areas”. Click Submit.
  8. Return to your course and select “Root” from the course menu to browse the content added to the course

Integrating with Brightspace/D2L

  1. From the Admin > Course Related menu click “Course Management”


  2. Click “Create a New Course Offering or Template”


  3. Choose your course creation type according to your institution’s policies and click “Next”


  4. Enter Course Information and click “Next”


  5. Confirm course offering create information by clicking “Create”


  6. Click “Done”


  7. Find your course and from the Settings menu click “Edit Course” and then click “External Learning Tools” under Site Resources


  8. Click “Manage Tool Providers” and then click “New Tool Provider”


  9. Enter the following information and click “Save and Close”:
    1. Launch Point: iws.oupsupport.com
    2. Secret: Your provided Secret
    3. Tool consumer information: Use custom tool consumer information instead of default:
    4. Key: Your provided Key
    5. Name: OUP LTI Content Links
    6. Description: Optional
    7. Contact Email: hedigital.support@oup.com
    8. Visibility: Allow users to use this tool provider
    9. Security Settings:
      • Send tool consumer information to tool provider
      • Send context information to tool provider
      • Send LTI user ID and LTI role list to tool provider
      • Send user name to tool provider
      • Send user email to tool provider
      • Send link title to tool provider
      • Send link description to tool provider
    10. Make tool provider available to: Current Org Unit


  10. From the Settings menu click “Edit Course” and then click “Import / Export / Copy” under Site Resources


  11. Select “Import Components” and select “Select a component source: from a course package”. Click Start.


  12. Click “Upload” and find the imscc file provided to you and then click “Import All Components”


  13. Wait for the import to complete and then click “View Content” to browse the content added to the course
