Measuring Crime

Homelessness is a significant problem in the United States. Decent, affordable housing is still out of reach for many people, but some programs try to address this problem. In 1965, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) was created to move homeless people into safe and secure shelters. Millions of dollars have been targeted at renewing urban centers so that transportation, housing, and urban environments are made suitable for the influx of people into cities. This effort has affected not only on housing but also the crime that is associated with poverty.
